Indonesia Starfruit Earring

This earing is a represented of the ornament of the Central Javanese period. The carambola, or starfruit, is native to many countries in Asia - the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and the Seychelles. The mature fruit is oblong measures from 5 to 15 cm (2 to 6 inches) in length. Carambola is rich in antioxidants and in vitamin C. The most unique visual quality of the starfruit is its star-shaped cross section, a common inspiration for textiles and jewelry.
